What is fostering?
When you foster, you agree to take a homeless cat or dog into your home and give him or her love, care and attention, either for a predetermined period of time or until the animal is adopted.
Types of fostering:
- Long Term – willing to provide long term foster care until the animal is adopted
- Short Term or Temporary – could be a weekend, a week, or while the dog transitions from one place to another
- Medical – for an animal requiring medical care outside of normal medications. Previous foster experience is preferred, but not required
- Emergency – when animal is pulled directly from the street, it will immediately need a safe, quiet place to decompress. This could be 24/48 hours while a permanent foster is found.
