Ziggy has spent his whole ~2 years of life in a colony of street cats in the Heights, which is 2 years too long! When Ziggy’s foster mom started feeding his colony it took about a week for Ziggy to make an appearance, but boy did he make an impression. Every evening at feeding time, Ziggy would slowly and casually hop up onto the fence. The first thing you’d see was his super long tail making happy little movements on the fence line, followed by a pair of adorable ears, and finally a bright pink nose and adorable face would peek over before he jumped down to say hello and grab a bite to eat!
This handsome young man has one blue eye and one green eye, but what is truly unique about Ziggy is his one of a kind personality and relaxed demeanor. He is content to sit by himself, come relax near his humans, or find the best hidey-hole in the house and curl up there – but where he really belongs is on your lap or next to you making biscuits and purring away. He is also a fiend for a good tummy rub, which is almost unheard of for a cat! Once he gets to know you Ziggy will walk up and flop on his back, ready to take in all the belly rubs he can get. When it comes to travel, Ziggy is a pro at riding around in a cat backpack where he’ll sit calmly and take in the sights.
Because he grew up on the street, Ziggy doesn’t fully understand the concept of toys… But this just means he has even more time to snuggle and look out the window at all the action happening outside. He is a perfect gentleman, never one to scratch the furniture, great litter box habits, and you can tell he is truly grateful for every moment he gets to spend inside a safe home with people who love him. It’s time for this little love to find a permanent family, could that be you?! It does take him a few days to warm up to new people and surroundings, but with his favorite wet food, a few treats, patience and calm surroundings, you will have a great little companion.
Ziggy also has a brother named Stache who is up for adoption through AJL. Both boys have deep red-orange spots on their white coat – not only are they both physically beautiful, they have beautiful personalities as well. The two of them aren’t an inseparable pair, but if you are looking for two compatible companions they would make a great addition together.
