Honey Butter (aka Buddy for short) is an extremely handsome, big orange boy with a heart of gold. He is between 18 months and 2 years old. Buddy was born on the street and raised by his mom, Lady. When Lady was taken into foster, he sat outside the catio for hours just to be close to her. After his neuter, he wanted to come inside and be a house cat. Buddy is remarkably well-behaved! He uses a Neakasa robot litter box as well as a regular manual box. He uses a scratching post and cardboard or coconut scratching pads, and has never clawed furniture or really done anything destructive. He's relatively low-energy but he does love to play with feather toys and his mom, Lady. Lady is more than his mom, she's his best friend, and they are extremely bonded to each other, so we want them to stay together. They play together for hours every day, chasing, jumping, and swatting at each other. They keep each other busy, so when you're at work, they won't be lonely together.
Buddy loves to snuggle, to be petted, and to make biscuits on humans. He likes to sleep in the big human bed at night, and will tell you when he wants you to go to bed, too. He also loves to lounge on the screened catio with Lady, and sit in a high window. He's somewhat talkative, meowing when he wants pets and singing his song late at night. Buddy is friendly to rabbits and cats! He even tried to snuggle with the resident bunny in his foster home, and is determined to make friends with the resident cat. He's more than 12 pounds of sweetheart, like a big chonky teddy bear. He allows nail trims, but it takes two people. He's a big fan of Churu.
Buddy is very timid with strangers and needs a home with humans who will also welcome Lady, and who will be patient with him, as it might take him time to feel safe and warm up. But like so many cats, when he gets over his fear, he is full of love and affection.
