Oh, hi there! My name is Clarissa, but they call me Cece for short. I am looking for my forever home and want to tell you my story to see if we might be a good fit! Let me backtrack to about two months ago... I was found running down the streets of Pasadena in the middle of the night all alone. I was so scared and everything in my little body hurt! I saw some lights and went running towards them hoping help had finally come! But it turned out to be a car that almost hit me! CAN YOU BELIEVE!! I was so scared! Thankfully, I was right. The person in the car DID stop and save me! For the first time in a long time I had a full belly and a soft place to sleep that night. The next day when I woke up, I felt even worse than the day before... I could barely keep my eyes open and felt so weak... I went to a new place with some nice people that gave me emergency IV fluids and stayed up with me all night. Fast forward to a few days later- I felt like a whole new dog! Now, mind you, this whole time my back leg had been hurting, but I was so hungry and sick, that was the least of my foster mom’s worries. She took me to this place called “the vet” where they did scans of my leg and didn’t find anything wrong! The vet prescribed me some pain medication and said I need to come back in two weeks. By the time two weeks had passed, my leg seemed to be all better! I can now put weight on it and run like crazy, so they think I just sprained it acting silly. Also, the first time I went to the vet they said I was 8 years old! EIGHT! How insulting! I am a young, feisty lady and I proved that as soon as my teeth were cleaned! It turns out, I had just been eating junk food my whole life, so my teeth looked really bad initially. Now they think I am 2-3 years old, but like they say, “a woman never reveals her age” so you will just have to guess! Now that you know my story, let me tell you about who I am now that I’m *practically* a new dog! I am super sassy and playful and love to run and play in the yard! Now, I don’t want to sound like I’m discriminating against my big foster sisters, but one time my foster mom brought home this cute little puppy that was my size and OMG, that was the best time of my life! I love playing with dogs of all sizes, but somebody that is my size isn’t so scary. 5-15 pound playmates are my jam. I could run and play and wrestle all day long! I will do best in a home with at least one other dog and if they are around my size and playful, that would be even better. So they don’t know much about my past before I was saved, but whoever had me before really didn’t do a great job of potty training me. I really just don’t seem to understand the concepts even though I really want to make you happy! I am learning to go on a potty pad and to potty in the yard, but I am not perfect just yet. I would really do great in a home that practices positive reinforcement and can keep working with me! Besides being playful, I also LOVE being held! My foster mom has this strap on baby harness thingy that she puts me in while she is doing chores and yardwork. It is seriously the most fun thing I’ve ever done in my life. I get to see everything up high and get snuggles at the same time! Can you say WIN WIN!? I hope my forever home will hold me frequently or maybe splurge on a carrying harness. Thank you for readying about me! I hope to meet you soon. -Cece
